As you all know Analog is an RP and RP's require a lot of writing. Most people have no problem with a couple of minor grammar mistakes but some people tend to make more than a couple of mistakes and that makes a lot of people not want to join an RP. to prevent people from taking a look at Analog and thinking we don't know how to write I would like everyone to look over this guide and follow it to the best of their ability.
Capitalization
ThIs Is NoT HoW yOu CaPiTaLiZe A SeNtEnCe!
When writing a sentence you should always make sure to capitalize the first letter but never capitalize every other letter because when you do Kangatoo and all the other lovers of grammar in this world lose another little bit of their faith in humanity.
The first letter of any names including those of businesses, places, languages, races, nationalities, religions and organizations should be capitalized. Titles (Mother, General etc.), days, months, holidays, special events, historical events, historical documents, historical periods and historical movements should have their first letter capitalized. Initials should always be capitalized.
When using i as a pronoun it should always be capitalized.
when using o as an interjection it should always be capitalized.
Punctuation
You know it's that thing that helps make your sentence sound good.
There's a lot to punctuation and I don't have the whole day to write this so I'm just going to give you some links that should be helpful.
periods
ellipsis marks
commas
semi-colons
colons
question marks
exclamation points
quotation marks
parenthesis
apostrophes
hyphens
dashes
There, their and they're.
This has to be one of the most annoying things ever for grammar lovers.
These three wonderful words are not interchangeable.
Their refers to something that belongs to "them" as in it is theirs.
There refers to a place as in I will meet you there.
they're is an abbreviation meaning they are as in they're nice people.
A lot
it's two words you idiots!
A lot is not one word it's two so when typing remember to write it as two words.
thank you for taking the time to read over this. If you have any questions PM me. - Kangatoo (The official grammar nerd of Analog)
