I can feel a hot one, taking me down. .
Deep into the rocky terrain of the Washington area was a city small, but so full of life. Set by the sea, its a tourist paradise; white sandy beaches, beautiful wilderness, and not to mention plenty to do. Those coming up to the town would take the detour through the trails or fishing on the pier. Elderly residents would enjoy casual walks down the boulevards and streets, window shopping as they went. The flea market opened in the warm summer heat to the chills of autumn, greeted by winter festivals in December.
Yet despite of the city's growth the nation was in turmoil. Poverty had struck among the humans, with increase of crime and rage. The United States was at war with the middle east, what would later be called Project Black Tide ( PBT ). Iraq was taken over as well as other country's by Muslim leaders and stopped trades of oil and other resources to the states threatening a fight if they made more promises of freedom and democracy. 2026 was the start date, and a world that was already in shambles shattered like glass, further more.
Mandatory recruitment was set and many citizens went to war, even those who called Violet home. Brave men and woman left for there country, but few came back. The ones that did bore scars from hell, for that what war truly is. With increase in demand of supply's and order the stock market crashed, and the start of what was known as the Second Great Depression. People lost jobs, turned to anarchy and corruption. Crimes increased as well as theft, murder even became more and more frequent. The effects were seen in our tiny city as well, life takes a noise dive.
Several years have passed since those days, and Violet is a shell of its former self. Few people can be seen around town, slowly buildings are neglected from disuse. Soldiers move in making camp, they prepare for enemy to make land sometime on the west coastline. It seems like the city is at mercy of the animals. The ones that take residence there form groups; they are pioneers of a new age. Some stay loyal to there owners, but even that is proving difficult.
In all this chaos there still seems to be problems. Strange things are happening around the neighborhoods as well as the streets. Shadowy figures are seen during dusk, while dogs tell tales of hearing voices speak out of thin air. Unknowingly the city is being altered by some mensing force, a black tide of there own is spreading.
In Violet Hill, theres little hope now. Can the city make a comback, and possibly discover its own dark truth?
